The Captain is coming
credit: forbes.com

Are you guys fans of the Marvel Universe? If so get ready, “Captain America: Civil War” is coming this week. On Friday May 6, it will be opening in the United States and it is predicted to top 200 million dollars according to The IUSB Preface. This movie did very well overseas grossing over 200 million dollars and they plan do that again in the opening weekend of the movie. This movie introduces a few more people into this Marvel Universe but I will not spoil anything for you here. I can say that if it anything like the other Marvel movies then we are all in for a treat. Especially with the sneak peaks that they will give out during the end credits.

Captain America is my favorite Marvel character because he is not extremely supernatural in comparison to the other characters. He is a science experiment gone completely right and is saving people. What more can you ask for? I plan on seeing this movie Friday at midnight. If you want tickets you should visit Cinemark. They will let you order your tickets as well as pick the seats that you want. Not only that but they also have recliners now so you can enjoy watching the movie in comfort.

Go see the movie and tell me what you think about it. I look forward to hearing you’re thoughts.

The Friday Bender

This is a weekly post about something to do on Friday nights is South Bend. Unless you are the type of person to look for things to do, it can be hard to find things going on by luck.  This post, will give weekly information about some events that are happening on Fridays.

One place that I always enjoy going to is the Morris Performing Arts Center. The 42nd street will be there this Friday. The 42nd Street is a Broadway show set in the Great Depression. I have not seen it but it could be one of those gems that you never forget. You can also learn to ice skate with the Irish skating club before winter is over. This will take place at the Icebox skating rink. Learning to skate would not be the worst thing to learn in South Bend since we have lots of time to skate during the year. Places such as Merrifield Park, Howard Park, the Compton Center, and the Icebox all have rink that people can skate at.

If the idea I put on here are not something that you would be interested in doing let me know and give me some of your ideas for The Friday Bender post. I would appreciate it and other readers will too.

Picture of the Day

The bridge image is a metaphor for what I want this blog to be about. A bridge connects areas together and I want this blog to connect people to the community around them. The image seems to be taken in fall which is a very colorful season and shows us how much things can change. The bridge makes me want to go along the Riverwalk in Mishawaka.
The Riverwalk connects 4 different parks together with pathways and bridges. While on this walk you are able to see a bunch of new landscaping done to the parks as well as see Kamm Island which is where Mishawaka holds some events throughout the year. Battell Park has bands play in the Band shell. Beutter Park plays movies every so often on a blow up screen. There is different events to do almost every week at these parks.
What does the bridge make you think about? Does it make you want to go check out the Riverwalk or attend an event at one of the parks?

About this blog

My name is Jordan Milligan. I was born in the South Bend area and have lived here for all of my 24 years. I work a full-time job and I am a full-time student. Even with my job and school sometimes I find myself sitting at home bored. I now try to stay as active as I can with going out and trying to find new things to do or go to places that I have never been to before.

This blog I have created is to give my readers some ideas of what there is to do in South Bend. This can range from taking a trip to the Grotto at Notre Dame to live concerts that are going on in the area. My goal is to keep you from that bored feeling that can sometimes happen in here. As well as give you a reason to go out and be a part of the community and meet new and interesting people.

This is not solely about my interests, feel free to send me questions about what to do that involve your interests. You can also send me information about some other the things that you like to do or let me know about an event that will be happening so that I can post about it to let other people know about it.
